9game provided: Dr. Driving is the best Car Driving and Car Parking game for Android.
The first thing I noticed about Dr. Driving is that there is no tutorial at the beginning of your gameplay, which means that you will have to learn how to play the game properly, by yourself. This is not such a big problem because of the fact that the gameplay is pretty straightforward, and I can imagine even the most casual mobile gamer being able to learn to play this game properly. The graphics are not the best but they do the job pretty well, because in my opinion, you do not need high definition graphics in a mobile car driving/racing simulator. I really like the fact that the developers have implemented a lot of car functions in the actual gameplay, such as blinkers, car honk, gas and break paddles and even rear mirror. It is also nice to see that the cars are upgradable and you can even purchase better cars, once you have saved up enough silver coins/gold coins.
Unfortunately, there are several negative aspects about Dr. Driving, which can be very annoying at times. For starters, there are banner advertisements implemented into the gameplay, which can be pretty obstructive to the gameplay. Normally, I wouldn’t mind when developers of free-to-play games implement advertisements into their games because they also need to make some money for their efforts, but the story changes when the advertisements are obstructive. Accidently tapping on the ads in Dr. Driving will minimalize the game and open your browser, which is really obstructive and annoying in my opinion. The developers of Dr. Driving should look into placing their advertisements elsewhere, so that the screen feels less cluttered.
Speaking about cluttered, the user interface is a real mess and was very unpleasant to navigate through for me. I can imagine that a lot of people got confused on how to actually start playing the game because there are a lot of things happening on the screen at the same time. The main menu buttons are very unclear and a pop-up keeps showing up, telling you to sign in with your Google+ account, which you do not actually require if you want to play single player.
The last negative aspect about Dr. Driving is the fact that many cars cannot be purchased using the basic silver coin currency. You will need to save up a lot of gold coins by playing multiplayer mode, but it is almost impossible to purchase high tier cars without paying real money to get gold coins. This means that players who can afford to spend real money on Dr. Driving will have a huge advantage over players who can’t or won’t. This makes the game feel more like a cash grab and a pay to win game, which is very negative in my opinion.
